Review of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

Review by Kylin M.

As told from Mr. Lockwood’s point of view, a tenant of Mr. Heathcliff, who lives at Thrushcross Grange. He soon learns of his landlord’s past, and of his lost love, Catherine Earnshaw. This information is brought forth from Catherine’s old maid, Nelly Dean. He learns of the secrets, despair, revenge, redemption, and lost love. How Catherine and Heathcliff do horrible things just to spite each other, and they both end up unhappy in the end. This is an immoral, but amazing love story, that keeps you wondering what happens next after every page. Though this book was slightly difficult to read, I loved it. I loved the ways the characters acted. Although they all had their problems, and weren’t very nice, this is a must-read, Perhaps that is one of the reasons that this novel is a classic. At any rate, it deserves to be up there with all the other great books.
