Summer Reading 2024 is Here!

The summer reading theme for this year is "Read, Renew, Repeat." Many of our programs and events this summer will focus upon upcycling materials, wildlife conservation, and how to help our earth stay healthy. Summer Reading events and activities begin Jul 2nd and conclude on August 9th. Be sure to regularly check our webpage calendar and social media to learn more about the latest games, activities, and programs coming to the North Scituate Library. Glow it Up!

Each week we will learn how to turn items into something different. ages 8+ July 11th Tote it Up: Turn that old t-shirt or pillow case into a tote bag July 18th Bling it Up- Use our fabric spray paint and Bedazzler to decorate old clothes. July 25th Paw-some Creations- Bring in old shirts to make pet bow ties, cat caves, and more! Cookbook Club

Expand your tastebuds and culinary skills! Join us to learn recipes from a brand-new cookbook each month! We will make a dish at home, then bring it to the library to share with others potluck-style! Hawks of Rhode Island with Audubon

Learn about the groups and species of hawks, their natural history and adaptations, and meet two of Audubon's live raptor ambassadors. Knife Skills Class with Chef Tom

Thursday, July 25 at 6 PM, ages 14-adult Local chef Thomas Mottl will be teaching knife safety and cutting techniques to teens and adults! Learn safe handling of knives and how to make basic cuts in different vegetables, as well as general safety in the kitchen. We will be handling real, sharp knives; this hands-on class will prepare you to go home and cook with confidence! *Registration required.*
