Chair yoga is a gentle and adapted Yoga practice where postures are performed while seated or with the aid of a chair. These classes will be opportunities to make movement, stretching, getting up and down to the floor, breathwork, as well as meditation more accessible for everyone. This is a great program for beginners and experienced Yoga students alike. All are welcome in this class. Please wear clothing you feel comfortable in and can move in. During Story Hour we will: Read 1-3 books Sing/ dance to 1-3 interactive songs Participate in an activity with a felt board/props/puppets Story hour will help children build the skills they need to enter into school. Each week we will focus on letter recognition, comprehension, and engage in activities that will help build confidence, independence, social skills, &problem - solving skills. Diabetes Prevention and Q & A Session for patients and family members with Cathy Potter, RN, BSN, and Sheila O’Brien, RN, BSN. Diabetes Prevention Session- focused on those NOT already diagnosed with diabetes but those who are at risk or have been told that they are pre-diabetic. Journaling is a great way to get thoughts and feelings down on paper with a creative twist. Come join us at the library for this monthly club as we journal by free writing, using gratitude prompts, or creating a collage. Bring a journal or notebook, and we will supply the crafts. A Zoom Presentation for Teens Learn the warning signs of mental health conditions, and the steps to take if you or a loved one are showing symptoms. This is a 1-hour presentation for adults with middle or high school aged youth that includes warning signs, facts and statistics, how to talk with your child and how to work with school staff. Wednesday, June 1 at 4pm. Registration is required.
